Quadrado Square
Quadrado Square

Trancoso is one of the oldest villages in Brazil, founded by the jesuits in the 16th century. This rare, precious and isolated hidden place of the country was discovered again in the 1970s, this time by a group of hippies who were enchanted by the magic of the place. Since then, among fishermen, artisans and travelers in search of peace and love, Trancoso has gained an increasing number of visitors inspired by the green sea, white sand, corals and coconut trees.

Today, Trancoso has become a charming and trendy village and the Quadrado is home to old colorful houses, listed by IPHAN, sophisticated restaurants, cool bars, cafés, charming little shops and ateliers, with the iconic São João Batista Church in the background.
